The BALL Research Collective was founded by Dr. Lockett in 2025 shortly after completing his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. The collective was created to bridge research, advocacy, and community engagement through affirming and socially responsive scholarship grounded in care, justice, and empowerment.
Promoting health equity, centering Black queer joy and wellness, and developing culturally responsive work grounded in lived experience.
